The Scout Promise
Everyone who joins the scouting organisation of Türkiye makes the Scout Promise below:
“On my honour I promise that I will do my best to fulfil my duties to God and to my country, to obey the Scout Law, to help other people at all times, and to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.”
The Scout Law
The law a Scout takes as a guide in daily life.
- 1 A Scout keeps their word and holds their honour and dignity above all else.
- 2 A Scout is loyal to their country, their nation, their family and their scout leaders.
- 3 A Scout is helpful and useful to others.
- 4 A Scout is a friend to all and a brother or sister to every other Scout.
- 5 A Scout is courteous to everyone.
- 6 A Scout loves and protects plants and animals.
- 7 A Scout listens to their elders, and loves and protects those younger than themselves.
- 8 A Scout is brave; cheerful and smiling under all conditions.
- 9 A Scout is thrifty.
- 10 A Scout is open and honest in thought, word and deed.
The Fundamental Principles of Scouting
The fundamental principles of scouting are three.

Duty to God
Commitment to spiritual values and the responsibility of living up to one’s faith.

Duty to Others
Responsibility towards country, nation, family and society; being helpful and useful to others.
3
Duty to Self
The responsibility of keeping oneself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
